The power of one...

Everything that actually comes to be, starts out with an individual - one crazy-enough a being who dares to rack his brain enough to think outside the realms of ordinary! Any, in fact all great inventions you can think of, however many names they are attributed to, one of them bore the idea after a well thought-of session, and brought it out to be!

Now, I needn't remind you that you don't have to know a thing or two about rocket science to make a difference with the output of your thoughts! In fact, you will be very amazed to discover that the so-called-great men in this world were once what you'd like to call- for lack of substitute words - "persistent retards", until they turned their lives around.

I don't know what you'd call a fifth grader who scores a 'none' (read - zero) in a math class, and does not flinch...they now call him Dr. Ben Carson the best Neurosurgeon to ever grace this earth - thanks to his mother!

"Addled" - was the word used by his teacher to best describe Thomas Edison during his early school life...3 months is the best he could do in a classroom - there possibly couldn't have been light bulbs to light our homes had it not been for this man...again - thanks to his mum!

"Gravity discovery" is attributed to Sir Isaac Newton. It is said that while taking tea under the apple trees in the family gardens one afternoon, (probably wondering why apples grow) an apple fell on his head -this seemingly kick-started his inspiration to the great works he brought forth!
And many more of these similar stories...!

Of importance to note, is the fact that most of the inventions known today were inspired by very simple events that an ordinary thinker would easily brush away (I call that moment of genius)!

As a fact, if you challenged yourself to see an opportunity in every circumstance, and go an extra mile in thought, and then in action...bit by bit, you can do that which you never even imagined you would do!
Just don't let your MOMENT OF GENIUS PASS YOU BY!

Edward Everett Hale famously said this; "I am only one. But still I am one. I cannot do everything, But still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the Something that I can do."

This poem probably stresses the power of one...thing or human:

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
    One bird can herald spring.
    One smile begins a friendship,
    One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
    One sunbeam lights a room.
    One candle wipes out darkness,
    One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One idea starts an invention and a revolution
One life can make the difference,

Don't ever forget how very important you are, not only to your loved ones, your work, but also to God. Remember, too, "if it's going to be, it will be up to you and me!"
